Brassic Ends Its Run with Tarantino-Inspired Last Episode
The creators Joseph Gilgun and Danny Brocklehurst are wrapping up on their humorous show about a tight-knit bunch of endearing rogues causing chaos in a rural Lancashire town. You might expect the finale to be a nostalgic highlight reel of booze, drugs and cheeky thievery. However, the vibes are distinctly darker as Vinnie (Gilgun) and the gang hole up in a bar with gangster Davey MacDonagh for a final 50th installment apparently inspired by the filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.

The journey has been lengthy. But the second-to-last episode of this initially sluggish but ultimately compelling phone-hacking drama sees David Tennant’s Nick uncovering information about the News of the World’s conduct that the rest of the media simply can’t ignore. Things are also looking up for the character Dave, who has a unexpected new supporter.
