Brian Eno Urges Support to Propel Together for Palestine Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A campaign is aiming to propel a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort aims to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Chance for Support and an "Surprise Victory"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an surprise number one.

“It would be fantastic if that came to pass, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely disheartened if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“It occupies a profound significance for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down in the wake of a solidarity show held in the autumn. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the performance was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The notable list of musicians contributing to Lullaby encompasses a group of prominent voices from the industry. All took part in the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a considerable total for relief efforts.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a group of talented individuals. The single blends a fusion of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The team running the initiative have emphasized that their goal is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These resources will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a spokesperson commented. “We will pursue whatever we can get. Naturally, the greater the amount, the better. It all goes out to Gaza.”

The situation in the region was described as its extreme devastation, with a huge proportion of property said to be in ruins or severely impacted.

“Given that reality, a couple of million won't make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is first of all making this cause better known and showing that another narrative exists.”

The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released this Friday. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a digital service from the 19th of December.
