The UK is prepared to move forward with using the total value of immobilized Russian holdings to aid the Ukrainian military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the UK, the French Republic, and Germany asserted that this coordinated action would increase strain on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge the Russian Federation to participate in talks.

They further noted that the initiative would be implemented in close cooperation with the US.

British restrictions have immobilized in excess of £25bn of Russia's funds since Moscow launched its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, until now, resources provided to the Ukrainian government using Russia's assets had solely been drawn from gains and dividends generated on them.

Sir Keir assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany were aligned in their goal to push forward toward using the full value of the seized Russia's state holdings to conclude the conflict.

He added that more restrictions over the next period would heighten the tension on Moscow.

This statement is subsequent to EU officials gathered in Copenhagen recently to consider using frozen Russian holdings for a €140 billion financial aid to Ukraine.

Last month, President Donald Trump called on international partners to seize or utilize frozen Russian holdings, based on reports.

The total of seized Russia's assets in the Europe is estimated to be almost €211bn.

Moscow executed large-scale aerial attacks across the Ukrainian territory on that day, causing electricity outages in many areas of Ukraine's capital, the city, and eight other regions.

Several persons were lost their lives and a minimum of 20 people were injured in the attack, authorities in Ukraine stated.

In a post on an online platform after the incident, Zelensky wrote that the strategic strike aimed at civilian and energy infrastructure.

"What is required is not mere statements but firm measures - from the United States, EU, and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and enforcing restrictions," he emphasized.

"Each restrictive measure diminishes the Russian war effort," Zelensky wrote, in a different message.

Additionally that day, Zelensky told reporters he would urge Sir Keir to enter the Purl program, under which Nato countries buy military equipment from the United States to donate to the Ukrainian forces.

While applauding the Britain's firm backing for Kyiv, he said it should send a clear signal that it would engage in the program, as well as impose more restrictions on Russia.
